Clandon Park Surrey

Last year we visited the recently reopened National Trust property, Clandon Park in Surrey.  The Palladian Mansion had been destroyed by fire in 2015.  The Trust opened the property up to the public again in 2016 to show how much damage had been done to the interior of the house with the structure of the house still standing.

It is a painstakingly slow project of restoration and preservation and ultimately rebuilding the interiors of the mansion.

it is interesting to see what has been happening since we last visited nearly a year ago.  This is the biggest project the National Trust has ever undertaken and it took several years to find the right architects to undertake the work.
