Blaenau Ffestiniog

Blaenau Ffestiniog is a historic mining town in Gwynedd, once the capital of the slate industry in Wales. But what really stands it apart is the steam train that runs from there to Porthmadog and back along a narrow gauge track.
The scenery along the way is stunning.  The return trip from Parthmadog takes about 3 1/2 hours and is a lovely scenic journey.  We had a fantastic day out.  The weather was great.
