We stayed for 3 nights in Broadstairs, East Kent. A lovely seaside town nestled between Margate and Ramsgate.
Broadstairs is brim-full of nostalgic, old-world, seaside charm. Charles Dickens holidayed here staying at Bleak House where he wrote David Copperfield.
There is a Dickens museum and house. Cliff top paths which we walked along link the many sandy bays and views of the white cliffs.
There are row after row of colourful beach huts along the shore.
We rode the open top bus from Broadstairs to Ramsgate and also the bus that tours around Margate.
There are many shops, restaurants and cafes to explore and we celebrated my birthday in an Italian Restaurant, Posillipo which has a large terrace overlooking the sea.
The Albion Hotel is also nice for a meal and has an indoor dining area with views of the sea as well as an outdoor terrace, but beware of the vicious seagulls. The hotel has even put up signs to say they are not responsible for seagulls stealing your food.
