The beautiful Elan Valley in mid Wales where we are staying in the tiny town Rhayader.  There is a series of lakes created by the damming of the two rivers there.

The scenery is spectacular.  Beautiful lush green hills and mountains and glassy lakes.  Majestic eagles and buzzards soar overhead, sheep graze lazily beside the road or sometimes sunbake in the middle of the road.

The narrow road meanders up the hills and down into the valleys.  You rarely see another car.  It's as if the place is all yours to enjoy peacefully.
