London Steam Dreams train trip

Seated for dinner

Sparkling Wine to start the journey

To round off a lovely day exploring London we had months ago booked a dinner train from Waterloo through the Surrey Countryside.

We arrived at Waterloo station about an hour before we due to board our steam train.  Eventually the train arrived pulled by the steam engine the Mayflower.

We found our carriage and settled in for the ride through the countryside while we enjoyed our 3 course dinner.

The train travelled out of London, stopping at Churtsey to fill up with water and then continued on through the Surrey countryside.

By the time the train go to the really pretty rural countryside it had become quite dark and we couldnt see much.  That was disappointing but we did enjoy our meal and chatting to our fellow passengers.

I would do it again, but maybe next time I would do a day time trip to ensure it was daylight for the entire journey.
